Senior Trust and Estate Paralegal

Ashley Lohrenz

Ashley Lohrenz joined Hook Law in 2026 as a Senior Trust and Estate Paralegal. Her practice focuses on estate planning, estate and trust administration, and wealth management compliance for individual clients, law firms, and corporate trust entities. She advises on the structural design, auditing, and procedural execution of complex estate and gift strategies, with an emphasis on long-term planning and rigorous fiduciary stewardship.

Ashley regularly counsels executors, trustees, and other fiduciaries in the administration of intricate estates and assists clients with court and tax compliance. She serves as a lead point of contact for clients, providing technical assistance in marshaling assets, verifying valuations, managing multi-million-dollar estate bank accounts, and distributing assets to beneficiaries. Her extensive experience includes managing substantial caseloads of up to 200 administration matters simultaneously, including complex estates valued at $75+ million. She is highly proficient in North Carolina probate law and e-filing systems, expertly drafting advanced estate vehicles, special proceedings, AOC forms, deeds, and petitions.

In addition to her private firm practice, Ashley has significant experience advising banking and software entities. She previously served as a Legal Officer within a trust and asset management group, where she conducted comprehensive compliance audits of over 300 trust accounts in less than a year. She also leverages her domain expertise as a probate specialist to provide research, development, and beta testing for emerging legal technology platforms.

Prior to joining Hook Law, Ashley operated a successful independent consultancy and practiced with leading regional law firms across North Carolina. Earlier in her career, she built over 15 years of deep corporate accounting experience as a Controller and Assistant Controller. This dual legal and financial background allows her to bring sophisticated forensic accounting and tax analysis to complex fiduciary administrations.

Ashley currently lives in Illinois with her high school sweetheart and their two cats. In her free time, she enjoys reading, working on puzzles, and tending to her plants.
