Jopa Werner serves as HR Manager at Hook Law, where she oversees talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, HR compliance, onboarding, and reporting for the firm. In this role, she is responsible for cultivating a fair, professional, and enjoyable workplace culture that strengthens retention and fosters collaboration across teams.
Jopa recently joined the Hook Law team, bringing more than 15 years of HR expertise to the firm. She began her career with an associate’s degree in office technology and worked her way up to HR Manager through dedication, skill, and a genuine passion for people, gaining broad experience across the full spectrum of human resources functions along the way.
Jopa is known for her optimistic spirit and positive outlook, and for building workplace relationships grounded in mutual respect and trust. She approaches her work with a steady commitment to the wellbeing of both the company and its employees, believing the two grow best together.
She is currently pursuing her SHRM certification and regularly participates in industry conferences to stay ahead of evolving HR trends, reflecting her ongoing commitment to professional growth and best practices in the field.
Jopa has been a proud Virginia Beach resident for over 40 years. She enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and exploring her creativity through arts and crafts.
