Kate O’Brien joined Hook Law in 2021, focusing on litigation, guardianship and conservatorship and estate administration. With over 20 years of experience, Kate excels in researching case law, drafting motions, orders, and conducting discovery on state and federal cases. Prior to joining Hook Law, Kate worked with the City of Norfolk on delinquent property tax matters. 

Kate is known for her high level of empathy and compassion in her client interactions. Her strong written skills emphasize clarity and accuracy, making her proficient in drafting legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and memorandums. Her critical thinking and problem-solving abilities enable her to thrive in a fast-paced environment across multiple practice areas.

A native of Virginia Beach, Kate is a dedicated mother of two. When she is not preparing for trial, she enjoys spending her free time with friends and family, staying active, and creating lasting memories.
