Mary Ellen McCoy joined Hook Law in 2016. With over 20 years of experience in the elder law field, Mary Ellen is a highly skilled paralegal specializing in long-term care and Medicaid planning. Throughout her career, Mary Ellen has provided compassionate and detail-oriented support to clients navigating the complexities of securing long-term care benefits and protecting their assets. As a Certified Medicaid Planner, Mary Ellen has extensive knowledge of Medicaid eligibility rules and application processes, which has made her an invaluable resource for families seeking guidance during challenging times.

In addition to long-term care planning, Mary Ellen assists clients with estate planning and trust and estate administration. She works closely with attorneys to prepare wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other essential documents tailored to meet each client’s unique needs. Known for her attention to detail and client-focused approach, Mary Ellen is dedicated to ensuring that every client feels supported and informed throughout the legal process. 

Prior to venturing into the legal field, Mary Ellen worked for many years as a licensed Architect. When not working, Mary Ellen enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially her two grandsons, leading a small group bible study, and traveling with her husband whenever she can.
